5 Best Running Machines For Home Use, By Barbie's Beauty Bits

The New year is a time for many to work towards new at-home fitness goals. One way to help boost these fitness goals is by adding more cardio to your workout routine using a running machine, like a treadmill or elliptical machine.

But where do you start if you do not want to go to the gym? Well, no worries, as Barbie's Beauty Bits is here to help you "run" towards your new fitness goals by putting together some of the best elliptical machines and treadmills. Read on to find out more!

Examples Of Running Machines
An Elliptical Machine
One of the most popular running machines is the elliptical. You can work your entire body, raise your heart rate, and burn additional energy for weight loss with elliptical machines without the constant pounding or pressure of running.

An elliptical usually comes with moving handlebars that provide a full-body workout by simultaneously working the upper and lower body. An elliptical machine can be a great addition to your home gym if you're looking for training, for walking or light jogging, and a low-impact cardio workout.

A Treadmill
One of the greatest appeals of running is that it can be done in the great outdoors. The outdoor environment exposes you to fresh air, keeps you in touch with nature, and makes time go faster.

But what are you to do when the weather isn't on your side or you do not live in an area where you can safely run? The answer is a home treadmill! A good treadmill is an all-weather machine; you can control the speed and slope, with incline or decline, to get the exact workout you want with the push of a button. Some even tie in with an Ifit membership.

Furthermore, treadmill belts provide a softer surface than asphalt or concrete, which can reduce injuries.

The Benefits Of Using A Treadmill Or Elliptical Machine

So, you’re thinking of choosing a running machine for your home gym – what are the benefits? One of the primary and most notable benefits of implementing a running machine into your home is improving your cardio fitness.

Cardio benefits the body, brain, and mental well-being. Furthermore, a few cardio workouts per week on a running machine is an effective way to manage stress by helping to release endorphins, the feel-good chemical in the brain.

Cardio-based exercises help boost your mood, improve your health, decrease the risk of diseases and increase your energy levels and sleep quality, to name a few.

Top 5 Running Machines For Home Workouts
Schwinn 470 – Elliptical

This model is one of the best overall ellipticals and is perfect if you’re looking for a low-impact trainer. Some of the most notable features of this elliptical are its vast range of resistance, 25 levels to be exact, so that you can increase difficulty. It also features speed, heart rate, time, and distance monitors to track your workout. This elliptical has a larger footprint, so if you are tight on space, this may not be the best option.

NordicTrack FS14i FreeStride – Elliptical
Compared to the Schwinn, this elliptical is named one of the best in luxury. It beats the previous machine regarding resistance with 26 levels to try, meaning you can create a versatile workout. It also allows you to adjust the incline and stride length.

This high-quality elliptical lets you view your calories burned, strokes, time, and distance. The only downside is that it comes with a luxury price tag!

Pro-Form Pro 9000 – Treadmill
Another excellent running machine comes in the form of this Pro-Form Pro treadmill. It’s on the more luxurious end of the scale when it comes to running machines, and it’s no surprise. It has auto-adjust speed and interactive workouts that you can take advantage of, whether running a 5K or a marathon.

This treadmill offers a sturdy belt, meaning you don’t have to worry about how you land.

Important To Keep In Mind: It’s quite a bulky option, so not the best if you’re hoping for a folding treadmill to store it out of sight, but if you have your own home gym, this high-quality treadmill could be a great addition.

Pelton Tread Basics – Treadmill
Another treadmill for those looking to bring their running experience indoors, the Pelton Tread Basics is paired with the fit app to bring you a range of engaging workouts.

The treadmill features a modern HD touchscreen, and the belt allows you to generate the power you need to get through the distance you’ve set for yourself.

The speed and incline are easy to adjust to create the best workout. This treadmill is a top pick as it boasts a basic yet modern design that would look great in any gym.

Sunny Health And Fitness Magnetic – Elliptical
This elliptical is a budget option that does what you need without all the bells and whistles. It allows you to track calories burned, the distance you’ve traveled, and your heart rate so you can keep an eye on how you’re exerting yourself.

It has 16 levels of resistance to help you create a versatile workout – it’s also easy to use and move, so you can decide where you want to work out! If you’re looking for a machine that does the job, this is one of the best.
