One Two Lash The World’s First Magnetic Fake EyeLashes

One Two Lash The World’s First Magnetic Fake EyeLashes By Barbies Beauty Bits

Long luscious lashes are what a lot of us are seeking, but getting there easily is another story.  While there are many mascaras out there like Too Faced Better Than Sex that will give you the length and volume, seeking more like what you can get from fake eyelashes is what most of us desire on those special occasions. BUT getting them on is another story, more so for me because I am farsighted.

Yes, starring at a computer all day has really affected my eyesight and long story short a few months ago for an event I decided to step up my game with fake lashes! NOT, I ended up getting glue in my eyes, as unfortunately you can’t wear your glasses and apply false lashes at the same time.

So what is a girl to do? Well, what about magnetic lashes? Yes, that is right, Katy Stoka, the founder of One Two Lash, has the solution with her Magnetic eyelashes or does she?  A friend of mine had these and I asked her about them.  She was kind enough to give me a set that she had not used yet for me to try out as she had not had any luck getting them on and thought I could help, so I decided to give it a try!

So if you want to find out how to use and my thoughts and tips on the Magnetic One Two Lash continue reading

About The Product
  • There are eight lashes in a box, which equals to two pairs and they cost about $70
  • Each lash has a magnetic on it to hold in place to the other. Hence, you are basically sandwiching your lashes between two ultra-lightweight fiber strip lashes.

Tips For Using
WATCH the video before applying, I did not, and it took me many tries to get the lashes on correctly.

Step 1: If you are farsighted like me, get out your magnifying mirror, as these bad boys do not automatically click on and connect as I thought they would.  They too like glue on lashes require some practice, so don’t try this out for the first time if you are in a hurry.  Next, lay down the microfiber that comes with the set.  PLEASE do this, I did not do this at first, and this cloth is what catches the lashes in case you drop one and trust me when you first start out you will lose one or one of the lashes will fall off.

Step 2: In the video, they recommend applying the lashes as your last makeup step, and yes this is important.  I found it better to apply some mascara first (one that curls your lashes and let it dry).  If you are great with an eyelash curler use that as well; I am not they scare me, therefore I opted for a curling mascara.  But just applying these lashes to a non-mascaraed lash did not do the job.

Step 3: When applying think of each falsie as the piece of bread, and you are going to sandwich your real lash in between the two.

Step 4: You want to do the top lash first, so here is where you will apply the one without the red dot over your eye.

Step 5: Position the top fake lash on top of your natural lashes, so the outside edge lines up with the edge of your natural lash line. The lash is a half lash, so get as close to the corner of your outside eye as possible. AND Don’t blink and leave the top lash where it is, and pick up the bottom lash (the one with the red dot).

Step 6: Without blinking AGAIN, place the bottom lash under your natural lashes, so it meets and connects with the top lash magnet.

So basically, the magnets snap together and hold the strips firmly together, hugging your natural lashes. IT DOES TAKE A WHILE TO GET THIS, and it was luck for me as I never did figure out what I was doing wrong, it just suddenly worked.

Variety Of Lengths
  • Original for daily wear (I don’t recommend these they are hard to see), my mascara did just as good as a job.
  • Bold for a more dramatic look (these I recommend)
  • Accent LASH gives the outer corners of your lash line a subtle (yet flirty) lift.
  • Filler to fill in any gaps, like the singles you get with glue ones.

My Opinion
While I did like the Magnetic One Two Lashes, it took some getting use too.  Also, they are not as flexible as regular glue on falsies, so they don’t bend and curl as closely to your natural lashes.  Hence, they may stick outwards instead of curling up, especially if you don’t line it up just right.  Because of this, I strongly recommend that you do use mascara, this way you can blend the one two lashes in with your mascara covered lashes. Once the fake eyelashes are on, I squeezed the fiber lashes into my own, so they curved up a bit more. (I am not sure if this is recommended, but it is what worked best for me.)

Does The Magnetic Lashes Feel Weird
I thought they would feel weird, but they really didn’t, you do get used to them just as you would glue on lashes.

Final Thoughts
Bottom line, if you follow my blog you know that I only share information on products that I recommend, I rarely share a negative opinion on something.  But I felt that I needed to share my experience with these and to let everyone know that there is a learning curve to these magnetic lashes as they are not as easy as one would hope.  My initial reasoning for wanting to use these was because I thought they would be an simple alternative for glue on lashes, but they were not any less difficult.  I do think the benefit to the one two lash is the fact that they are not as damaging to the eyelash as the glue on lashes.  But if you are one who only wears fake lashes for a special occasion and doesn't have difficulty using the glue on ones, I would not go out and spend the $70 on these.
