The Many Uses For Salt

The many uses of salt by barbie's beauty bits

Salt, Salt, Salt, Salt…
Here are a Few Pantry To Pretty Bits, for Salt
    1. Surf Spray:  Why pay for the expensive brand when you can make your own at home!  How to: Mix 3 teaspoons of Epsom Salt, 3 teaspoon of a water-based hair gel, and 4 ounces of water into a spray bottle, shake and mix. Once mixed, spray solution on hair and style.
    2. Bad breath from garlic:  Well if you are not trying to ward off vampires, we have a mix that will fix that bad breath.  How to: Mix 1/2 teaspoon of salt and 1/2 teaspoon baking soda into 3-ounces of water. Use this mixture to gargle and freshen your stinky breath!
    3. Skin care: To help with oily skin, mix a tablespoon of salt with bottled water in a spray bottle. Once the salt is dissolved, you can spray the solution on your face.  Be careful to avoid your eyes. Follow up by washing your face and moisturizing.
    4.  Eliminate residue from an iron: Turn your iron on hot (no steam please) and run it over a white towel sprinkled with salt, until the residue is off the iron. ~No more mess, now you're ready to press~
    5.  Unclog a drain: If your drain is moving a "Bit" slow, pour a solution of ½ cups of salt for every quart of hot water down the drain, and you’ll wash that grit right out of the way!
    6.  Exfoliation: A salt massage will remove unwanted dry skin, making your skin nice and smooth! So, before you go out tonight, after your bath, while your skin is wet, sprinkle a “Bit” of salt onto your hands and rub it gently all over your skin, and rinse. Now you're ready to go with a nice glow!

  1. Just unclogged my bathroom tub with salt! Everything else I was reading said baking soda and vinegar, but I'm out of vinegar!

  2. Vinegar is also very helpful, and sometimes an antacid, like Alka Selzter can work. But it all depends on what is clogging the drain too.

  3. I got over waiting for room service and googled how to clean the scum off an iron & found this post. Thanks a billion as this worked, maybe I should give this link to the maid too.
