Uses For Glue & Other Household Items

With the holiday season in the air, we have decorations everywhere! And with this, accidents do happen!  Here are some “Pantry to Pretty Bits” for you on how to help heal those boo-boos!

Splinters: We can get these fragments from a lot of our decorations, acorns, DIY projects, pine needles and even fiberglass fragments, from some Christmas ornaments.  So how to remove these unwanted objects from your skin? Well we have some household items that are sure to win...
  • Tape: Simply place some Scotch tape over the splinter, and pull upwards to remove.  Scotch tape is usually harmless, as it is not that sticky.  You can also, accomplish the same thing with a Band-Aid, or some surgical tape.
  • Need something stronger? Well another option is Elmer’s Glue:  All you need to do is apply the glue over the splinter, let it dry, and then peel it off.  The splinter will come off with the glue. Keep in mind that you want to use a non toxic glue, and one that is not permanent and can be easily removed.
