The Secret To Finding A Bra That Fits; With Your Sister Size!

The Secret To Finding A Bra That Fits; With Your Sister Size, By Barbie's Beauty Bits.

Today, I’m going to write a blog post on something that I did research on to help myself. Finding a bra that fits and one that doesn’t look like what I call, a grandma sling shot, is a rarity for me. It doesn’t matter what my measurements come out to, I can’t ever seem to find a bra in all styles that fit my size. Furthermore, the larger you go up, the less “sexy” they seem to get, which seems bizarre to me... I mean the larger the chest, the uglier the bra gets. DID YOU HEAR THAT MEN?

Any who, I heard the ladies at Victoria's Secret make reference to my “sister size”, so I decided to investigate exactly how these sisters work!

So how does this work?
  • Well, first and foremost you must be measured. As going by a bra that fits you at one store is not true sizing.
  • Once you find your true band and cup size, you can go on your search for your long lost sisters.
  • Either go UP to the next BAND size & DOWN to the next CUP size. OR you can go DOWN to the NEXT BAND size & GO UP to the next CUP size.
  • What??? Kind of sounded like twisted sisters to me, but once you see the below it will make better sense!!

Sister Bra Size Samples:

34A=32B or Vice Versa
34B=32C or Vice Versa
36D=34DD or Vice Versa

After some further investigation, I also located some more additional ways to determine your sister sizes in a bra. But rather then explaining them by each bra size, I recreated an image below to illustrate. Needless to say, I am so excited that I now have more options, I guess the "secret" is out!

Ladies, don't forget to comment and if you have any more tips for finding the right bra, please share!

IMPORTANT: Regardless of your measurements, I strongly recommend that you try on the bras. I'm sure a sales associate would disagree with me on this, but I find that a size at one store does not always fit the same as another. You can't argue with your measurements, but they don't always match up with the size on the tag.

How To Increase Traffic To Your Website Or Blog

How To Increase Traffic To Your Website Or Blog by Barbie's Beauty Bits

I wanted to share with my fellow bloggers some great tips to help build your empire. First, I want to start off by saying: The key to becoming successful in business is being relevant. But, in order to be relevant you need to remain relevant. This is why in today’s internet-based society, connections and networking are important to successful bloggers and brands. In addition to the relationships we build, are how we build them. Well, today I’m going to share with you some simple 101 tips to becoming more relevant in the internet world, because as we know, traffic is life for a website or blog.

Tip 1: Social Sharing: Joining social networking group pages, can really pay off. The social sharing method is one of the most popular and easiest approach to helping you to generate more traffic to your website or social pages. Considering most who are members of these groups, have the same goal in common. Which is to build their online presence, and to gain followers, so interacting can be a big benefit. Bottom line, if you are able to increase the number of likes, views and shares of your brand, the more visitors you will have.

Here are a few great ones to consider. Simply click and if it looks like you, ask to be invited!
Get Social Group... This one is most social sites
Blog Lovin Link Up
The Beauty Blogger Bunch...This one is for comments to your page. However, this is only beauty related.
The DIY Beauty Group Board & MORE This is a group Pinterest Board

Tip 2: Creating Blog Links From Comments: If you are a blogger you know the importance of incoming links to your page from other sites. With that being said, did you know, you can also use the comment area on other websites/bloggers pages to make a back link to your page? But, are you doing it right? Are you leaving a clickable link or are you just leaving your blog or website url? Unfortunately, I’ve seen many people just leave their blog name rather than a clickable link to their page. Therefore, I’m going to show you how to get this to link to your page in just a few easy steps!

How NOT To Do This:
Great post, I’ve been dying to try this eye shadow.
Thanks for sharing,
Barbie
www.barbiesbeautybits.com

In the above example, someone can’t link to your site by clicking on the URL. Instead, they’d have to copy and paste the URL to get to your page. Furthermore, you are not link building.

How TO DO this:

Great post, I’ve been dying to try this eye shadow.
Thanks for sharing,
Barbie

In layman terms....Insert THE URL TO YOUR WEBSITE/BLOG here.
Replace YOUR TITLE here.

Example: barbiesbeautybitsblogger

So, not only is the link clickable, it can now be picked up by search engines. You can also do the above for a post if you'd like. Where instead of inserting the URL to your page, you'd insert the URL to the post. YEAH!

Tip 3: Optimize Images For Better Search Engine Rankings: You may not realize, but what you name an image when you save it, can really help you with searches. Hence, helping you to generate traffic from image searches on google. For example, if you have an image about makeup dupes. You should not save the images with a generic file name, like blog post 85. Although, you may know that blog post 85 is about makeup dupes, this will do nothing for you, to help with your search engine ranking. Instead, you should use a descriptive file name with the keyword you want that image to rank for. Also, make sure to include your company name in the image to help linking it to you. I would also do the same with the image properties of a image you place on your site(s).

Example: Mac Makeup Dupes by Barbie’s Beauty Bits.

So there you have it! Three easy steps on how to increase traffic to your website or blog. Also, if you thought these tips were helpful, please make sure to stay tune for more! As I will soon be sharing details about a great photo editing program, that is extremely user friendly and fun to use! Called... PICMONKEY ROYALE.

How To Get Your Eyeshadow To Stay On All Day

How To Get Your Eyeshadow To Stay On All Day, By Barbie's Beauty

I get asked this question a lot, so here are my makeup Monday tips, you can stick with! Bottom line, it takes more than just luck to get your eyeshadow to stay. If you follow these steps, you too will have eye-shadows that will stick around all day.

STEPS TO SUCCESS:

  1. Products: You do get what you pay for. Although, I am a heavy dupe promoter, if it not at least an 85% dupe, stick to the higher end products.
    • Shadow should be heavily pigmented.
    • Minimal fallout .
  2. The Brush: You must have the right brush(s), if you want the right look.
    • Stay away from brushes that come with the drugstore brands, they are low quality & the bristles usually fall out on your eyelids.
    • You want to make sure that you avoid sponge applicators, as they absorb a lot of product. You goal is to get the product on your eye, not the applicator. (in the long run, brushes end up saving you money)
    • Make sure your brushes are cleaned regularly too.
  3. Primer: I explain primer in makeup, the same way, I would with a house. Similar to primer that you would apply to a wall prior to painting, you want to do the same with your eyes. Primer allows the color to adhere better, last longer, with little transparency and minimal fading. Also, if you have a great primer it will prevent creasing and false wrinkles.
  4. Layering: Using an eyeliner or a white eyeliner on the eye and then build with color. This will make the colors bolder and darker.
  5. Application:
    • Blending correctly is very important.
    • Where to apply the color: For starters, I recommend the 3 piece look. AKA, the lid, crease, and brow bone.
    • You can make the color more vibrant by getting it wet. IMPORTANT: You want to mist your brush with water, not the shadow.

So there you have it, my makeup Monday tricks on how to make your eye shadow stay on all day, until next time!

10 Tips To Prevent Your Hair From Being Used & Abused

Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow!

Top beauty tips on preventing your hair from being damaged by barbies beauty bits

In one of my recent posts, I talked about how to control the oil in your hair as well as some other tips to healthy hair. Well, today I have another one for you. If you have not seen this video that is on the web about this girl burning her hair you have to see it (CLICK HERE TO SEE VIDEO). Devastating, to say the least, which prompted this post; hair today, gone tomorrow! Because if you don’t take care of your hair today, it can be gone tomorrow.

The Heat Wave; and I’m not talking about the weather here but rather styling tools for your hair. I understand the importance of having great looking hair, and I know how hard it is to keep away from using these. So instead, I’m going to give you my top 10 tricks to help reduce some of the exposure your hair can have to these tools.

Don't overheat your hair by Barbie's Beauty Bits

BB Bit 1: Air dry your hair instead of blow drying it; your hair will be much stronger if you do this. Blow drying your hair and then immediately using a flat/curling iron can cause your hair to become damaged. According to my hair stylist, drying your hair before using a flat iron will make your hair look dull as the heat from the dryer causes the cuticles to open. Not enough time? Then, I suggest washing your hair at night and letting it air dry. If that is not an option, you can allow your hair to air dry while you're putting on your makeup and getting dressed.

BB Bit 2: Protector… Make sure if you are using any heated device, that you also apply a heat protector on your hair. In addition to a thermal protector, you should invest in a UV protector along with some Moroccan or argon oils or a trendy hat (there are plenty that we keep you looking chic)

BB Bit 3: Unlike the girl in the video I mentioned above, do not leave the device on your hair for an extended period of time. It is not necessary. You should keep it on about 1 second per inch of hair while moving down the hair.

BB Bit 4: You get what you pay for, meaning it does pay to get a high-quality styling tools; some are better for your hair than others.

BB Bit 5: Hair trends today give us many of the options for a beach wave or partially curled hair. For instance, you can braid your hair for a wave; try the sock bun method or even some soft non-heated rollers
.

BB Bit 6: Don’t wash your hair every day. In my recent post, I talked about the reasons for this, but today I have another reason for not washing; if you don’t wash it every day, you don’t have to expose it every day to these styling tools and products. So what do I mean? If you style your hair say on a Monday and have taken the correct steps mentioned here and in this post, you can have that style last for days with only minimal touch-ups.

BB Bit 7: Dry shampoos are the best. They give your hair an extra day, sometimes two depending on how you take care of your hair.

BB Bit 8: Sleep with your hair up, by doing so you will prevent your hair from getting dirty. Dirt can be picked up from your face and bedding, so keeping it away from these can give you a few more days of hair not having to be exposed to a hair dryer.

BB Bit 9: Avoid using too much conditioner as it can weigh your hair down. This can cause you to have to wash it quicker or try to compensate with another hair product or hot rollers. Sulfate-free conditioners work best.

BB Bit 10: Never flat iron your hair while it is wet. Your flat iron is HOT, some up to 400 degrees.
